Day Three

Breakfast is included this morning at the hotel.  Our local city guide and motorcoach will meet the group at the hotel for our journey to Valley Forge National Park.  The park is nationally significant as the 1777-1778 winter encampment site of the Continental Army led by George W. Washington.  Upon arrival to the park we embark on a 90-minute guided tour of this historic site Following the tour, we make our way to the Philadelphia Zoo (the oldest zoo in the United States).  Ranked as one of the top zoological destinations in the world, the zoo is famous for its ability to breed many animals that are often difficult to produce offspring while being in captivity.  Here you will enjoy lunch on your own at one of the various food vendors.  After lunch we are greeted by an Adventure Guide who takes us on an exciting tour around the zoo to experience the vast variety of animals, sounds and smells.  Instead of a visit to the zoo, your group may choose to visit the Philadelphia Museum of Art.  The 72 stone steps leading into the museum were made famous by their appearance in the film “Rocky”.  Upon arrival inside the museum you will enjoy lunch on your own at one of the various food venues.  After lunch we are joined by a museum guide who will take us on a guided tour of the collection.  We end our day with a three-hour scenic dinner cruise along the Delaware River.  Fully narrated, delicious foods and music is the perfect way to wrap up your visit to Philadelphia.
