Rail and Sail New York and Vermont

Join us for this wonderful rail and sail adventure that will take us into the beautiful Adirondack and Green Mountains. We’ll enjoy a journey from Utica, NY to the lovely town of Old Forge, NY. We meet our coach at the Thendara Station where we will enjoy a picnic lunch. This afternoon we enjoy a scenic ride through the Adirondack National Forest along the Fulton Chain of Lakes. We enjoy an afternoon cruise on Lake George aboard the Paddlewheel Minne Ha Ha. We overnight for two evenings in the Rutland or Ludlow areas of Vermont. Our time in Vermont will include a ride on the scenic Green Mountain Railroad and a visit to the Vermont Country Store. Let us help you customize this fantastic tour for your group.

Day One

Today we travel to the lovely Turning Stone Resort and Casino hotel in Verona, NY. Dinner and Gaming package are included in your stay. (D)

Day Two

Breakfast is included this morning at the hotel. We board the coach for Utica where we embark on the Adirondack Scenic Railroad for a scenic 2 ½ journey to Old Forge, NY in the Adirondack Mountains. Upon your arrival in Old Forge you will enjoy a picnic lunch at the station. This afternoon we travel to Lake George for an afternoon cruise aboard the Minne Ha Ha. Following our journey, we travel to the Rutland/Ludlow area of Vermont where we make our overnight for the next two evenings. Dinner is included this evening at a local restaurant. Relax and enjoy your surroundings. (B,L,D)

Day Three

A hearty breakfast is served before departing for Chester, VT where we will board the Green Mountain Railroad for a scenic ride from Chester to Ludlow, VT. Following our rail journey, we travel to the charming town of Weston where you can enjoy lunch and shopping on your own at the Vermont Country Store. (We may choose to stop for lunch in Ludlow prior to visiting the Vermont Country Store depending on our dining options.) Conclude our day with a visit to Crowley Cheese (Vermont’s Oldest Cheese Company) for a talk and tasting. Another wonderful dinner is included this evening at a local restaurant. (B,D)

Day Four

Following breakfast, we depart for home taking with us many fond memories of our Rail Adventure in New York and Vermont. (B)
