July Rail & Sail – Connecticut and New Hampshire – July 13 – 16, 2022

Day One
Late morning arrival at the Essex Steam Train & Riverboat nestled on the shore of the Connecticut River. This afternoon we sit back for a two-and-a-half-hour excursion that combines a scenic train ride and river cruise. A tasty box lunch will be included. We board the motorcoach and begin our journey to the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Upon arrival we enjoy a Traditional New England dinner before making our way to our mountainside accommodations for the next three nights. (L,D)

Day Two
Breakfast is included at the hotel this morning. Boarding the motorcoach, we travel to the iconic Mount Washington for a three-hour roundtrip excursion aboard the Cog Railway to the summit of Mount Washington. Your group has the option of including a box lunch or dining on your own in the Summit Cafeteria or at the Base Station. Time will be allowed to visit the Museum. We then begin our journey back to the hotel via the picturesque Kancamagus Highway with picture stops including the overlook of the Mount Washington Hotel. This evening we board the Café Lafayette Dinner Train for a fabulous four course dinner while taking in the sights. (B,L*, D)

Day Three
Breakfast is included at the hotel this morning. After breakfast we board the coach and make our way to Squam Lake, made famous by the movie “On Golden Pond”. Here we take a 90-minute narrated cruise around the lake where you will see the loons and other native wildlife. This afternoon our first stop takes us to the Mill Falls Marketplace located on the shore of Lake Winnipesaukee. Your group will enjoy lunch and shopping on their own – stroll the magnificent boardwalk and revel in the beauty of the lake. Next we travel to Loon Mountain for a scenic roundtrip Gondola ride to the Summit of Loon Mountain. Returning to the hotel we enjoy a delicious buffet dinner. (B,D)

Day Four
Breakfast is included at the hotel this morning. Following breakfast, we board the coach for our return journey home taking with us fond memories of our time in New England. (B)
