Join us for a culinary experience through two popular cities. This tour will tempt your tastebuds with local foods and take you to many areas that a normal city tour does not often include.  Meet with culinary professionals, executive chefs and local foodies that will show you each city in a new light.

Day One

Early afternoon arrival in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania known as the City of Brotherly Love.  Upon arrival at our downtown hotel we will be greeted by our local, knowledgeable escort who will be with us for the remainder of the week.  Dinner this evening will be included at a popular restaurant.

Day Two

Breakfast is served at our hotel this morning.  Our first stop this morning brings us to Chinatown where we meet with Celebrity Chef, Joe Poon who has been featured on The Tonight Show, the Ellen DeGeneres Show and the Food Network.  Chef will take us on a walking tour of Chinatown that includes visits to a Chinese store, bakery and fortune cookie factory ending with a delicious four course Chinese lunch.   Next we travel to the Reading Terminal, home to Philadelphia foods.  Here you will have the change to explore the massive market on your own – visit with many local vendors and enjoy samples of scrapple, ice cream, soft pretzels and more.   Dinner is on your own this evening at a restaurant of your choice.

Day Three

Breakfast is served at the hotel this morning.  This morning we travel to the Philadelphia Italian Market, 9th Street where we meet with a local culinary professional who will take us on a guided tour of the oldest outdoor Italian Market in the United States.  We will enjoy samples and tastings of many Italian favorites along our journey.  This afternoon we travel to the Independence National Historic Park for a guided tour of Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell.  Dinner is included at a favorite local restaurant.

Day Four

After breakfast at the hotel, we board the coach and make our way to ‘The Big Apple’, New York City.   Our first stop takes us to the Famous Chelsea Market, Home of the Food Network.  Here we meet our local guide who will take us on a tasting tour that includes seven different stops.   (Tasty samples at each stop will be enough to make up your lunch).  After the tour we meet with another local, knowledgeable NYC guide who will take us on a driving tour of the city including East and West Sides, Central Park, the Empire State Building, and much more.  We check into our Manhattan hotel where we will spend the next three evenings.  Dinner is included this evening at one of New York’s fine restaurants.

Day Five

Following breakfast at the hotel, we travel to the Lower East Side.  Our “noshing” tour combines the history of the multi-ethnic Lower East Side with diverse tastes of the neighborhood.   Learn about the Jewish East Side, Little Italy and Chinatown as we walk through New York’s historic “ethnic quarter”.   As we explore the history of the area we will make a series of food sampling stops at the significant and historic shops & markets in the area.  Next, we travel to the world famous, Katz’s Deli, for a wonderful pastrami sandwich.   After lunch we travel to SoHo and meet a local chocolate expert who will take us on a tour of five fabulous and unique chocolate shops including, Jacques Torres Chocolate.  We will sample chocolates from each shop along our journey.  Enjoy dinner and a Broadway Show on your own this evening.

Day Six

After breakfast at the hotel, we make a short trip to Harlem.  When people think of Harlem, soul food naturally comes to mind. However, Harlem also is home to a variety of diverse cultures…and tastes. On this combination walking and driving tour, you will have the opportunity to taste renowned soul food as well as Caribbean and African cuisines at a variety of restaurants.  Between tastings, you’ll learn about Harlem’s rich history and treasured architecture.  This tour is the perfect introduction to Harlem, and you’ will end up with a list of restaurants and destinations you’ll be eager to visit on your next trip to New York City.  Returning to the hotel, the rest of your afternoon is free to explore the city on your own.   We meet back up in the hotel lobby this evening to travel to another fine New York Restaurant for our farewell dinner.

Day Seven

After breakfast, we board the coach for our journey back to the Philadelphia Airport taking with us many fond memories of Philadelphia and New York culinary cuisine.
