Day One

Upon your arrival at your Newport, Rhode Island area hotel, the group will be greeted by our local, knowledgeable group leader who will spend the next seven days with you on your Culinary Adventure thru New England.   A delicious dinner is served this evening at a local restaurant.  

Day Two

Breakfast is included this morning at our hotel.  Today we board our coach for a guided tour of historic Newport.  We enjoy a ride along Ten Mile Drive viewing the many “Summer Cottages” of Newport’s elite families, cruise along Bellevue Avenue and if time permits we make a stop at the famed Cliff Walk.  We’ll enjoy a visit to Newport’s grandest mansion “The Breakers” – built for Cornelius Vanderbilt in 1892.  You might want to make a stop at the Famous Del’s Lemonade for a delicious soft frozen lemonade to wet your whistle.  For lunch today we will enjoy Chowder and Clam Cakes at Flo’s Clam Shack overlooking picturesque Narragansett Bay.  After lunch we make a short trip to Newport Vineyards for a guided tour and tasting.  On our way back to the hotel we’ll stop and enjoy some free time in downtown Newport.  A wonderful dinner is included this evening at a local restaurant.

Day Three

Following breakfast at the hotel, we say good-bye to Rhode Island and take a journey north along the coast of New England to Massachusetts.  Our first stop today takes us to Boston’s North End where we meet our local food historian for a tour of the oldest Italian Neighborhood in the United States.  We visit many of the North End’s food establishments including the Coffee Shop, the local produce store, a salumeria, a bakery and a liquor store.  We conclude our morning with a visit to the Boston Public Market where you will have the opportunity to sample many locally grown and homemade products.  Lunch is on your own at the market.  After lunch we’ll board the coach and make our way to York, Maine where we visit Stonewall Kitchens where you can find absolutely everything blueberry.  We check into our Maine hotel for the next two evenings.  A delicious dinner is included this evening.

Day Four

Breakfast is included this morning at our hotel.  This morning we travel to Perkins Cove where we board the Finestkind for a lobster pulling demonstration and scenic cruise. Next we travel to the city of Portland where you will have some free time in Old Port for a little shopping and lunch on your own.  After lunch we’ll visit a local meadery or brewery for a tour and tasting depending upon your preference.  This evening we enjoy a traditional Maine Lobster Dinner with all the fixings – yum!

Day Five

Following breakfast at the hotel we board the coach and begin our journey to Vermont.  Our first stop takes us past Quechee Gorge “Vermont’s Little Grand Canyon” and into Quechee Village where we visit the Cabot Cheese Annex for a little cheese tasting, and the Vermont Spirits Distillery.  We continue into Woodstock where you will have some free time for lunch and shopping on your own.  This afternoon takes us to Billings Farm and Museum for a tour of the farm, dairy barns and museum.  We will also enjoy a ricotta cheese making demonstration.  We continue to our hotel in the Ludlow area where we will spend the next two evenings.  Dinner is included this evening at a local restaurant.

Day Six

Breakfast is included this morning at our hotel.  Our first stop today is at the Cold Hollow Cider Mill where you witness the production of their delicious ciders and treat yourself to a homemade cider donut.   We continue on to the charming village of Stowe for a little lunch on your own.  Following lunch we make a quick stop at Vermont’s Famous Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream for a tasty cone before ending our day at Morse Sugar Farm to learn about Vermont’s “Liquid Gold – i.e. maple syrup” and enjoy a traditional sugar on snow.  A farewell Bavarian dinner is included this evening.

Day Seven

Breakfast is included at the hotel before boarding the coach with full bellies and fond memories of your tasty trek through New England.
